To the delight of fans and colleagues, French motor-racing legend Alain Prost made a special appearance yesterday at TAG Heuer’s “MASTERING SPEED” racecar and watch exhibition at the Halle Sêcheron in Geneva.

At a special ceremony, the four-time F1 World Champion received a Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph from Jean-Christophe Babin, the CEO of TAG Heuer.

“As usual, between the watches, the chronographs, and the cars, TAG Heuer has put together an unbeatable roster of winners,” said the Special Ambassador, whose association with the legendary Swiss watch brand goes back to his FI World Championship days with McLaren in the 1980s.The long-time friend of TAG Heuer, Prost re-joined the brand’s “Dream Team” of motor-sports ambassadors in December. The “Professor” — as he is called in driving circles because of his smooth, relaxed driving style — is Special Ambassador of TAG Heuer’s “150 Years of Motor Racing” celebrations, which will continue in various cities and racing capitals around the world throughout 2011. Prost will play a prominent role in the celebrations, alongside Vodafone McLaren Mercedes champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

TAG Heuer’s “150 Years of Motor-Racing” celebrations commemorate TAG Heuer’s unrivalled heritage in motor sports.

The “Mastering Speed” exhibition showcases 10 cars that have made an indelible mark in the motor racing history of TAG Heuer and in international motorsport in general. These include those driven by the brand’s racing ambassadors, including F1 great Juan Manuel Fangio’s Mercedes W196, Clay Regazzoni's Ferrari F1 312 B3, the World Champions McLarens F1 cars of Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Lewis Hamilton, and the Audi R15+ TDI winner of Le Mans 24 Hours.

Also in the show are iconic TAG Heuer watches and chronographs directly inspired by motor racing. These include the Formula 1 series, created in homage to TAG Heuer’s long association with F1 racing, as well as the indomitable timepieces named after the most famous driving competitions in motorsports: the Monaco, the Silverstone, the Carrera, and the Monza.
